DISCOTHEQUE WRECK (DTW)

A blend of cutesy keys, gutsy indie guitars and disco diva vocals....but it works.....

Hailing from west Birmingham, mostly the Stoubridge area and surroundings, this unlikely 6 piece
was the brainchild of Matt Skeldon, former Nuventure UK promoter. His love of all things hard edged indie (Ginger / Wildhearts are continual reference points) was counterbalanced by Rich - a drummer with a love of hip hop, Imo - a total visual and musical chameleon, Josie - young and impressionable and can play anything, Kim on vocal writing and bellowing diva perfomance and a revolving door of bass players until they alighted on Majic Palmer - the man behind Squashed Cob.

While working out of Musoplex Kim also met Mehsopuria, a huge international bhangra star signed to Universal who was recording his album vocals at the studio. The pair wrote a song on his last album (Mehsopuria - Feat Kim - Tera Kala Doriya), the music for which was written by Majic, Si and Andy - with Si on executive production.

The band took an extensive break after their 1st tour while the EP was being finished to write new material and have just started gigging again after recording their 2nd EP with Majic at the helm.

This DW EP was completed prior to Majic joining the band and released on our label before we, and the Wreck, sadly parted company. We are still immensely proud of our time with them and wish them all the luck for the future.
